Our History

1986 – The Beginning
SDS London was established in 1986 on Northcote Road, Battersea. What started as a small showroom displaying beautiful brass hardware, run by just a few dedicated team members, quickly earned a reputation for its expertise, quality products, and friendly service.

2006 – The Digital Era
We launched our very first e-commerce website, making it easier than ever for customers to explore and order our products online. While the showroom continued to thrive, our office team expanded its focus on product specification and technical advice, ensuring a seamless experience from consultation to completion.

2014 – Strengthening Our Foundations
We enhanced our website, increased stock holding, refined our showroom experience, and continued to raise the bar for customer service. These improvements helped establish the strong foundation SDS London continues to build upon today.

2016 – A New Home in Wimbledon Park
To support our growing operations, we moved our warehouse to a much larger site in Wimbledon Park and opened our dedicated Trade Centre. This move allowed us to expand our capabilities and better serve both retail and trade customers.

2022 – Innovation and Growth
We re-platformed our entire website and launched dedicated online platforms for both trade and retail clients, reaffirming our commitment to a modern, customer-focused experience.

2023 – One Roof, One Vision
Our Northcote Road showroom merged with our Wimbledon Park premises, uniting our operations under one roof. This move allowed us to streamline processes, strengthen communication, and deliver a more efficient and cohesive service to all customers.

2024 – Employee Ownership
In February 2024, SDS London proudly became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). This milestone represents our belief in shared success and our dedication to building a sustainable, people-driven future.
