How much weight can this catch hold? I am looking for a catch (or pair) which can hold a heavy loft access panel. Can it work in conjunction with damper struts that will slow the dropping of the hatch?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a specified weight capacity for this product (I’ve checked with the supplier), as it hasn’t been tested to a particular weight. However, this catch is commonly purchased for loft hatch applications.

While the fitting doesn’t lock, it does engage and hold securely with the frame-mounted part until the catch is pressed again to release.
